DIY – Usare una fotocamera Canon come webcam

Non sapevo proprio che si potesse utilizzare una fotocamera Canon come una webcam, almeno fino a qualche giorno fa, quando ho scoperto un articolo molto interessante che spiegava come utilizzare appunto una Canon come webcam per Messenger. Le fotocamere digitali sono sempre utili, svolgono diverse funzioni, sono facili da usare e hanno permesso a tante persone di avvicinarsi alla fotografia senza troppo timore, ma in maniera quasi spontanea. Però questo interessante progetto DIY permette di trasformare solo le fotocamere digitali Canon in webcam per il computer.
Per quanto riguarda le fotografie, purtroppo non ho potuto inserirle perché, non avendo una fotocamera digitale Canon, ma solo Nikon e Olympus, non ho avuto modo di testare la webcam. Fortunatamente però, l’autore ha messo a disposizione un filmato per spiegare il tutto. Io ho comunque tradotto il tutorial, in modo che, anche chi non fosse a conoscenza dell’inglese, non dovrebbe avere problemi a seguire il filmato, tra l’altro di buona qualità. Nella lista qui di seguito sono riportati i modelli di fotocamere digitali Canon che possono essere utilizzate per questo DIY.

Cosa serve per utilizzare una fotocamera Canon come una webcam

Il software per le immagini, ZoomBrowser Ex che dovrebbe essere fornito con quasi tutte le Canon, un software per il live output, e una delle seguenti digitali Canon.

Configurazione della Canon da usare come webcam

Seguiamo passo dopo passo, le istruzioni. Colleghiamo la fotocamera digitale via USB, chiudiamo l’autoplay e avviamo il software ZoomBrowser Ex. Andare su “Scegliere fotocamera e memory card” e selezionare “RemoteShooting”; a questo punto si aprirà la finestra in cui dovreste vedere la vostra immagine in tempo reale, lasciatela li. Aprite Camtasia Studio 5, scegliete l’applicazione Camtasia Recorder e poi seguite il seguente percorso: Strumenti – Video – Opzioni – Manuale – Live output capture (non so se in italiano sia stato tradotto). A questo punto si dovrebbe aprire una finestra con al centro il tasto per la registrazione (Record), cliccatelo e comparirà un box verde con le funzioni di riproduzione (stop, play, ecc.)che dovete trasportare sopra l’immagine della finestra “Remote Shooting”, che avevate aperto in precedenza, in modo da farle combaciare. Ci siamo, la configurazione è completata, ora basta andare in Messenger, selezionare la Canon come webcam e iniziare a video chattare.
